Amanda is a multidisciplinary artist and visual effects specialist born in Kingston, Jamaica. Her early years were divided between Jamaica and New York. As a child, art was always a safe space for her. Her fondest memory as a child was sitting in front of the TV with her black and white composition notebook drawing the characters from the Nickelodeon tv show, Rugrats. She knew she wanted to be an artist at an incredibly early age. Art served as a sanctuary for Amanda, fostering a lifelong passion.

After earning her Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design in 2008, Amanda navigated the challenges of a recession-era job market, freelancing in graphic design while working in various industries. Her breakthrough came in 2012 with her first illustration publication by the National Academies Press. Amanda's fascination with creature features and special effects led her to study the works of legendary artists Jim Henson, Tom Savini, and Stan Winston. She honed her skills in special effects makeup, working on indie projects, haunted theme parks, and New York's Halloween Village Parade.

In 2018, Amanda relocated to California to pursue a career in film production. She earned her Master's degree in Visual Effects from the Academy of Art University, contributing to her first feature-length film, American Murderer (2022). Amanda's filmography now includes two feature films, one independent film, and twelve TV shows, such as Disney's The Mysterious Benedict Society and Villains of Valley View.

Amanda's most recent project was working as a Technical VFX Artist for the groundbreaking MSG Sphere in Las Vegas, where she pushed the boundaries of immersive storytelling using cutting-edge VR technology. This innovative experience showcases her adaptability and commitment to exploring new frontiers in visual effects. Amanda is also working on a current passion project, which is a documentary addressing social issues in her home country of Jamaica, aiming to educate and inspire change.

Wherever the story takes her, Amanda is ready to bring her expertise and artistry to exciting new film and creative projects, regardless of geography!

“Film-making is a multidisciplinary craft and that is what I love about it! It is a powerful tool that can be used to educate the masses in the most creative form. My artistic expression is my livelihood!".
